Starting a conversation by phone number

On WhatsApp you can reach out to someone who has not messaged you yet. Click the new conversation icon at the top of the Inbox list and enter the phone number with the country code.

If a conversation with that number already exists, Orbit opens it instead of duplicating. If it is a new number, it creates the contact — and you can name it right away.

The first message requires a template

Since the person never wrote to you, the 24-hour window is closed. The first message must be an approved template, charged by Meta. Once they reply, the window opens and the conversation continues normally and free of charge.

WhatsApp only

Instagram and Messenger do not allow starting a conversation — Meta only lets you reply to whoever wrote first, with no exceptions and no templates. That is why the button only appears when a WhatsApp number is connected.
